Translation: a calling

It all started when, as a teenager, I wanted to understand the deeper meaning of David Bowie’s songs – so I started translating his lyrics!

Every discovery was a thrill and, drawn by English-language pop culture, I moved to London to work as an au pair, after which I made several trips to the United Kingdom and the United States.

Quite simply, falling in love with the language of Shakespeare led me to where I am today: a qualified specialist English-to-French translator!

A communications and marketing professional

I also have 24 years of experience in marketing and communications. I’ve worked for international groups, with English as my working language.

My expertise in communications for international organisations and fundraising for NGOs and foundations means I understand the challenges and issues they face.

As a graduate of the Sorbonne’s highly prestigious communication school, CELSA, I have excellent language knowledge and perfect understanding of cross-cultural communications.

Welcome to Bealab, my translation laboratory

At Bealab, I combine my two passions – the English language and communication – to tackle your translations with the utmost care. Translation lets me both feed my curiosity and scratch that perfectionist itch.

I’d love to learn what drives you and what challenges you face!

The tools I use

  • I use SDL Trados Studio 2022 as my CAT (Computer Assisted Translation) tool, which supports all document formats (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, pdf and html). Trados, the most widely used CAT tool, helps me ensure consistency and the utmost quality – but those translations are still 100% my work.

  • I use Adobe InDesign and the MS Office suite for design and layout work.
